Axsys Released for General Production of Train Interface Cards
SCOTTSDALE, September 20, 1999
Axsys Automation announced the release of full production orders for a multi-card interface system at the heart of train communications being developed for the New York Transit Authority by Telephonics, a developer and integrator of electronic communication systems.
These systems will be installed on subway cars recently purchased by MTA New York City Transit and represent the latest in Communications technology for application in Public Transit systems. The cars will be supplied to the "B Division" of NYCT's subway system. It is expected that over 1,000 new cars will be required by this division over the next five to seven years.
